‘Fashion Forward-The Trunk Show’ Organized at Modi College
The Post–graduate Department of Fashion Technology, Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organized a Trunk Show to showcase the creations of students of the department. More than 40 budding designers took part in the show which gave students the opportunity to unleash their creativity with some exquisite designs mentored by the faculty of the Department of Fashion designing. The students were able apply what they’ve learned in the classroom to a real runway setting. The Trunk show was an initiative to provide a platform for the emerging designers and models.
Congratulating the young designers and commending their efforts Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar said the ideas, techniques and design aesthetics entwines the knowledge and skills to make a mark on the fashion world. He urged the students to be innovative and design savvy to be successful in the industry.
Prof. Neena Sareen, Head, Dept. Of Commerce, Prof Jagdeep from Dept, of Geography and Dr. Deepika Singla from Dept. of Commerce acted as judge for the event. The creativity of the students was much appreciated by the judges as the models walked over the ramp with much grace and confidence.
In the show, Jasneet Kaur and Meghna of M.Sc.-I bagged first position. Shruti fron B.Sc.-I (FT) and Rahul B.Sc.-II (FT) stood Second. Gurleen Kaur from B.Sc.-II (F.T.) and Jyoti Chaudhari from B.Sc.-III stood third.
The event was co-ordinated by Head, Department of Fashion Designing, Dr. Veenu Jain and faculty members, Ms. Amanjot Kaur, Ms Arshdeep Kaur, Ms. Gurpreet Kaur and Ms Anwesha.
A large number of students and faculty members attended the event.
